Round 1 Winners/Losers
This is a brief summary of the round 1 winners, losers, and gambles.
Winners -
Jacksonville Jaguars
After just missing the play offs by half a game last season, they came into this off season in stealth mode. Just as the draft started, the Jaguars clawed and scratched its way to picking up some of the biggest prospects of the draft. Revamping their O-Line, taking the best RG and LG in the draft, 2nd best CB, and best DT. Making off like a bandit, 4 top notch draft picks. Fans are glued to their television sets, to see what head coach has up their sleeve for the remaining rounds. Hats off Jacksonville Coaches, Finally, the Tennessee Terror is gonna have some push back!
Pittsburgh Steelers
Making a late run push, last year and taking the lead of the division, but a disappointing loss in the 1st round, ended hopes of a run. Head Coach was not messing around this off season, openly marketing players, sending the tune that all are expendable, and to earn your pay check, and failure is not an option. Jumping up to snag a great HB and LOLB, Pittsburgh is primed to make a violent push. Lets see what the further rounds bring this team.
Losers -
Oakland Raiders
Making it into the play offs with a 6-10 record is beyond laughable. Having so many needs, and made no efforts to work its way up into the draft, is astonishing. Gear up Oakland fans, if the AP train comes to a hault, like it did in Atlanta 2 seasons ago, Oakland may be the 3rd team in history to go 0-16.
New York Giants
For the second year in a row, the Giants organization has refused to bring in new life lines. Few seasons back, they started off hot, and bottomed out just before the pla offs missing them completely. Last season, they struggled for the year. Looks like to be a repeat, this year. Gear up Giants fans, it's going to be a long season.
Gambles -
Atlanta Falcons
After trading away Patrick Peterson and Tracy Porter the team's best CB's just a year ago, drafted a 2 Rookie CB's, Pick 1 and Pick 2. Gamble? Stupid? Genius? Time will tell.
Tennessee Titans
Led by Defensive Captain Patrick Willis, the Titans bring in 2 LB's and trades for a 3rd rookie LB. Aquiring Patrick Peterson, and Chris Johnson, just to trade Chris Johnson, for another LB and drafting a DT. Riddle me this, Lost his mind? Absolute Brillant? We'll see, when the team open ups vs the defending Super Bowl champions.
