ML Franchise Rules
There WILL be a salary cap.
That cap number will go up 20 million per season.
Roster limits will be at 55 maximum. There will be exception for players deemed "Out For The Season" in Madden. For every person on your roster with this exception, you get one bonus roster spot.
Trades will be voted on by a committee of Myself, Begg, and Ansem. Two "Yes" votes are needed for a trade to be approved.
1) You become a manager of a team and act as the owner/GM. Making trades, signing free agents, and drafting new talent. All trades are to be posted for the trade council to watch over, to make sure no one is being taken advantage of. But we do understand we are all men/women making our own choices.
2) All the games are to be NFL Simulation. This adds to the reality factor that your team wouldn't risk injury during certain win situations. No use of game glitches are permitted, as they don't do this in real life. Advancement of Weeks, are every Monday night at Midnight central, and Thursday nights at Midnight central.
3) The trading deadline is BY week 6. When week 6 starts, trades are done. If you make trades, please post the trade details in the trade forum for approval.
4) Communicate with your opponent via website or PSN so that it is noted that you are making an attempt to have your game scheduled to be played. Those that are not able to play before advance will need to notify the league manager so that a temp boot can take place and rest of the league can advance as scheduled. This is key in order for our league to run smoothly without any setbacks.
5) Have good sportsmanship and respect toward your opponent. If game is out of reach and you've sealed the victory do not continue to launch deep passes and pile on points. Run the football and milk the clock as much as possible so that the game can end and receive your win.
6) Don't run the same play or formation every play. Learn your playbook and have a balanced attack offensively and defensively. Don't run out of bounds on kickoffs so that you're not blocked then make the tackle. That's a penalty in the NFL therefore is not allowed. No nano blitzing or any other foul play that gives you an advantage to win a game. Is it so hard to win a game the honorable way?
7) If the game disconnects, there's not much that can be done about this issue. If game is in the second half and there's a clear winner go ahead and count game if it gives you the option. If it's still early in the game go ahead and restart it and play from beginning. Of course it can be unfair but it is a problem that is out of our control. We have to manage it as best as possible.
8 - No always going for it on 4th down, as this is not Simulation NFL. In desperation. do or die situations in the 4th qtr is acceptable. As for the 4th down rule, only go for it on 4th if you are on their side of the field, and are deemed not in field goal range, yet in no-mans land.
Use your head with this rule.
Or, if you are down, and it is a do-or-die situation, it is acceptable as well.
9) No trading people signed as free agents before Week 2 during the first season. This goes against the Free Agent buffet we wanted to stop.
10) If you have a big lead going against someone, and that person disconnects in the first half. That person should get their lead back. If the person they're playing disconnects and quits the league, that person will get their lead back and play against a sub
11) Do not start chewing clock down to single digits until there are less than four minutes left in the game if you are preserving a 14 point or less lead.
12) NEVER play the CPU. If you've TRIED to reach your opponent and they haven't responded, or you're scheduled to play the CPU that week, ask what's going on with that team first. Subs will not be given out right away unless there is no owner for that team, and even then, contact DD to find out what's going on.
13) If you and your opponent simply can not connect, it happens. Your game will more than likely be simmed unless one of you agrees that the other can play a sub. You have 3-4 days in between games though, so you should have plenty of opportunities.
