Post by Tails Fri Jun 29, 2012 10:04 pm

1 ) You become a manager of a team and act as the owner/GM. Making trades, signing free agents, and drafting new talent. All trades are to be posted for the trade person to watch over, to make sure no one is being taken advantage of. But we do understand we are all men/women making our own choices.

2 ) All the games are to be NFL Simulation. This adds to the reality factor that your team wouldn't risk injury during certain win situations. No use of game glitches are permitted, as they don't do this in real life. Games are to be played three times a week, that way there is a steady flow. Advancement of Weeks, are every Monday 10pm Pacific Time, Wednesday 10pm Pacific Time, and Saturday 10am pacific time. If you miss one game, You will receive a warning along with a temp boot. If you miss 2 games, You will be booted from the League without Question. We do not read minds so if you can not play, Please inform us.. We are just a PM away.

3 ) We are mandating people to use the scheduling Sub forum now. Everyone will schedule their game on the subforums from now on. (Madden 13). You will NOT receive a sub if you don't have a Scheduling post. It should take at the most a day to make a small post on the thread. We all have lives and important matters but it only takes 30 seconds or less to type up your schedule.

4 ) Have good sportsmanship and respect toward your opponent. If game is out of reach and you've sealed the victory, run the football and milk the clock as much as possible so that the game can end and receive your win. If your opponent has no time outs, and you can kneel it out, do so. This also includes onside kicks. The "surprise" onside kick is limited to one per game anyway, so use it when you see fit. Preferably when down. Onside kicks, are meant to be used in "no choice" situations. Again, it is all respectful game play.

5 ) Don't run the same play or play type every play. Learn your playbook and have a balanced attack offensively and defensively. Don't run out of bounds on kickoffs so that you're not blocked then make the tackle. That's a penalty in the NFL therefore is not allowed. No nano blitzing or any other foul play that gives you an advantage to win a game. Do not circle your players while on defense. This is "cheese" style speed boost. Do not stack your Defense. What is stacking? When you line a player directly behind a D-Linemen so that the CPU AI doesn't recognize the player behind the D-Linemen. Do not run up the score or stat pad. Is it so hard to win a game the honorable way?

6 ) If the game disconnects, there's not much that can be done about this issue. If game is in the second half and there's a clear winner go ahead and count game if it gives you the option. If it's still early in the game go ahead and restart it and play from beginning. Of course it can be unfair but it is a problem that is out of our control. We have to manage it as best as possible.

7 ) Going for it on 4th down. 1st through 3rd Quarters, you are only permitted to go for it if you are down by 3 scores. 4th Quarter, if you are losing by 2 scores or more, it is permitted to go for it. If you are losing by 8 or less, you may not go for it, unless it is in the final 4 minutes. At the same token, the opponent may choose to go for it in the final 2 minutes to keep the ball away from the opposition. Use common sense, which some Owners lack. if up big, punt it. In a close game, go for it, with in reason.

8 ) You may never play the cpu. You must request for a sub player. If you break this rule, penalties, and possible dismissal from the league may happen.

9 ) Be sure to remain active on the website. This is not optional as no Owner likes to have to hunt down their opponent. Check in every other day, and everything will be fine. We replace Owners that are not on the website. This again goes with rule 3 so if you can't be a committed owner and take a few seconds out of your day to visit the chat or even the site in general.. Then this is not the league for you.

10) No Huddle. This is strictly enforced. No Huddle is permitted at any time during the game, as long as these following rules are followed. You call a play....run a no huddle....and then you allow the team to huddle again. Running consecutive no huddle's for an entire drive is seen as "cheese play" and is punishable.

11 ) For Madden 13, We WILL NOT be dealing with childish people. If you can't handle something without resorting to it by acting childish or immature, There will consequences that could result in a boot from the league. We should have all learned from the problems we had in M12, so lets not repeat them. You know who you are...

Lets all enjoy Madden 13 and the many seasons we will enjoy!

Tony's version

1) This is not so much a rule as much as a warning. Entering into this league you become many things, but let us just focus on 3 integral parts. First you become an Owner of your team. Secondly you become the general manager and last but not least you become the head coach of your football team. Make trades, sign free agents, and draft new talent. All trades are to be posted for the trade overseer to watch over for the purpose of making sure no one is being taken advantage of in an abusive manner. Although it is understood that we are all men/women making our own choices and that WILL be taken into account. Please do not make a fuss over a regret on a trade. Due diligence was surely given to ensure that it was to the standards the league has.

2) Games are to be played no less than three times a week so that there is a steady flow for the league to advance with. The official advancements of Weeks are as follows:

Every Monday 10pm Pacific Time
Wednesday 10pm Pacific Time
Saturday 10am Pacific Time.

The league will not always advance on this schedule. There are probably only 3 instances where the league’s advancement will be sped up or delayed. Major holidays when people are with their families, such as Christmas and Thanksgiving, are usually made to have only 2 advances or a singular advance the week of the event. It would be a shame to have to try and put a game above and before family and we have no desire to cause anyone to do that. Second event being the completion of all games prior to the advance time, why hold up the league if we are several hours ahead or even a day ahead? The third event will be the week of Tony’s birthday, a well-respected time in this league.

Alright...I lied about the third time. Sue me. Madden 13 Rules 2921906561

3) We highly discourage people missing games; it shows little respect for your opponent at the very least and puts the league behind in its functioning processes. If you miss one game you will receive a warning along with a temporary boot. This is very unfortunate in the case of your coach because you will lose any experience on him and all attributes he has gotten under you. Starting fresh may not be ideal. If you miss 2 games you will be booted form the league without question and a spot will likely not come around for a very long time. You MUST private message someone, anyone with the reason you will miss a game or (see the next rule) post on the forum. We cannot read minds when we go and run this league, we have to look at it at its face value. Cases that exempt you from this are events such as natural disasters, we hardly expect you to go out in a hurricane to notify us. Stay safe and do what you need to do; we can also put two and two together if we have a general idea of your residence and put you on hold so that you lose nothing.

We are mandating people to use the scheduling forum now for all their games; this is not an option for you to skip out on from week to week on a whim. Everyone will schedule their game on the proper forum from now on. You will NOT receive a sub if you don't have a scheduling post. It should take at the most a day to make a small post on the thread and we provide you with 3 days nearly every advance. We all have lives and important matters but it only takes 30 seconds or less to type up your schedule depending on your typing skills. This is also just a simple courtesy for your opponent; No one wants to sit around all advances putting off plans waiting for someone to possibly show up.

4) This is something the league is predicated on and that is preached in sermons across the MFL season. Have good sportsmanship and respect toward your opponent. You have seen its place in the rules past us and you will see it in the rules ahead of us. If game is out of reach and you've sealed the victory, run the football and milk the clock as much as possible so that the game can end and you receive your win. If your opponent has no time outs and you can kneel it out, do so. This also includes onside kicks. Preferably you will use them when down. Onside kicks, are meant to be used in "no choice" situations. No choice being when the game is still in reach, but not out of hand. It is quite silly to be using it up 14 with 30 seconds left and it is quite foolhardy to use it down 3 scores past the 2 minute warning in the 4th. Again, it is all respectful game play and respect for your opponent.

5) All the games are to be NFL Simulation. This has many definitions and it really changes from one user to another, so let’s make this simple. These are the guidelines to be used when asking yourself if what you are about to do is “sim” with the point immediately following to be bent under NO circumstances: No use of game glitches is permitted. You will have some crazy errors in the NFL don’t get us wrong, but they hardly justify using glitches in even a slight attempt to mimic them.

Please do not repeatedly use the same play several times in a row even if it is a “money” play. Learn your playbook and have a balanced attack offensively and defensively, it isn’t fair to your opponent and it isn’t really fair to yourself.

Don't run out of bounds on kickoffs so that you're not blocked then make the tackle. That's a penalty in the NFL therefore is not allowed.

Also while on defense there is to be no “Nano blitzing” or any other foul play that gives you an advantage to win a game that aren’t quite glitches. It is also to be mentioned you may not circle your players while on defense. This is "cheese" style speed boost.

Stacking your defense is not allowed. What is stacking? It is when you line a player directly behind D-Linemen so that the CPU AI doesn't recognize the player behind the D-Linemen.

Do not run up the score or stat pad. Is it so hard to win a game the honorable way? People have been banned for this and suspended. Do not be the next one.

6) If the game disconnects, there's not much that can be done about this issue. It can be a combination of issues from the internet in your home to the servers of EA being cranky. If it's still early in the game go ahead and restart it and play from beginning. If it is later in the game and your opponent has a sizable lead you must give it back to them. You and your opponent can agree to set the score to what it was and even go to that point in the new game. That is both your prerogatives. If you cannot come to that agreement you must still give the lead back. Take your score and subtract it from your opponent’s score.

These are several things to note when doing this that have become a hot topic of debate on this site.

Firstly you will give the lead back as soon as you can. This means in the first quarter of the game; This sets the game to being played quickly and somewhat benefits yourself by ensuring you have some time to mount a comeback if the lead is large.

Secondly if you win the coin toss choose to kick. This gives them a chance to score in less than ten seconds. Try and move your men away from the returner on the kickoff. If the man is tackled that is OK, no big deal. Let’s move on to the third point.

Thirdly you should not be playing defense yourself or via the CPU when giving a lead back. Please limit yourself to Special teams plays particularly FG block and punt block with their own variations. This enabled a quick pass from your opponent to go for a TD and again score in less than 10 seconds.

Of course this can all be unfair, but it is a problem that is out of our control as humans and people who do not work at electronic Arts in the Madden Department. We have to manage it as best as possible and we feel this does so.

7) Through the 1st and 3rd Quarters, you are only permitted to go for it if you are down by 3 scores. 3 scores are not 3 FGs or 3 safeties. Minimum it will be 2 Touchdowns and any other scoring play of your opponent. I.E. 2 touchdowns and a FG/Safety/Touchdown. In the 4th Quarter if you are losing by 2 scores or more it is permitted to go for it. This does not mean 2 FGs or safeties. It is a Touchdown and a touchdown/FG/safety. If you are losing by 8 or less, you may not go for it, unless it is in the final 4 minutes. On the flip side the opponent may choose to go for it in the final 2 minutes to keep the ball away from the opposition. To clear any confusion regarding the previous statement: THIS DOES NOT MEAN IF IT IS OUT OF HAND TO DO SO. It is if it is 8 points or less.

Past all the big words and flowery rhetoric it basically means to overall use common sense which some owners lack for themselves. If up big punt it. In a close game go for it within reason.

Also a point to note:

All touchdowns are assumed to have either a successful extra point or 2 point conversion. Please contact the nearest member of the league or better yet someone with a “@” for any issues arising from the missing/blocking/stopping of one of these. Fair is fair.

8) You may never play the CPU unless given express permission by an ADMIN with a PLAYER being set to “auto”. You may not play a true CPU team. You must request for a sub player, please see previous rules as subs are mentioned and the process to get one is elaborated on. If you break this rule penalties and possible dismissal from the league may happen.

9) Be sure to remain active on the website. This is not optional as no owner likes to have to hunt down their opponent. This absolutely includes using the forum mentioned previously. Check in every other day at least and everything will be fine. This again goes with rule 3 so if you can't be a committed owner and take a few seconds out of your day to visit the chat or even the site in general. Then this is not the league for you and we aren’t very sorry that it did not workout.

10) Our no huddle rule is strictly enforced. No Huddle is permitted at any time during the game as long as the following rules are followed to the letter.

Run a play.
Hurry Up to the line damn it! Wasting clock!
HUDDLE.
Lather.
Rinse.
Repeat.

Running consecutive no huddle's for an entire drive is seen as "cheese play" and is punishable.

Although this should be noted. Recall our previous mentions of professional and courteous play with respect to your opponent? Just because we won’t expressly forbid you (We actually may do so) from following this the entire game does not mean we approve of it going all game. We are trying to be reasonable here and will not tolerate an abuse of our fairness.

11) At no point in this Madden will we be dealing with childish people. If you can't handle something without resorting to childish or immature behavior disturbing nearly everyone on the site except yourself we must say hello to goodbye and part ways. Basically there will consequences that could easily result in a boot from the league. We have all learned from the problems we had in M12, so let’s not repeat them and all you survivors out there you damn well know who you are...

Now that all that is over let’s all enjoy Madden 13 and the many seasons we will enjoy!
