Baltimore Ravens S5
Today, we take a look at a team that had their struggles for the last couple of years, the Baltimore Ravens. Now that the former leaders and future hall of famers Ray Lewis, Terrell Suggs and Ed Reed are long gone, this team has never been able to recover and put a decent team on the field. Add the fact they are mixed up in arguably one of the top division in the league, the AFC North.
Roster Breakdown:
Top 3 Offensive players: HB LeSean McCoy, WR Torrey Smith and RG Marshal Yanda
This team doesnt seem to have found yet its starting signal-caller as 3 Quarterback played so far this season. The problem is, they all been average at best with Gardner throwing 4TDs and 4 Interceptions and Cook scored 4 times and gave the ball away 7 other times. Clearly this team believes in throwing the ball around as they have a big yardage total of 1127 yards. The QB squad's favorite target is TE Jermaine Gresham whou hauled in 20 balls so far this season. The workhorse of this team is RB LeSean McCoy with a total 43 touches. He combines for 147 yards on the ground and 226 through the air for a total of 373 yards.
Top 3 Defensive players: DL Haloti Ngata, CB Lardarius Webb and SS Matt Elam
Not much to say about this defense stat wise besides there doesnt seem to have any playmakers on that squad. Most of the defense gets a lot of tackles and nobody seems to be able to get constant pressure coming since the leader in sacks only has 2 and the interceptions arent coming either with Raymond leading with only 2 himself.
Roster strong spots: RB, DB
Roster weak spots: QB, WR, DL
Rankings:
Baltimore currently ranks as the 19th best overall offense while being 14th through the air and 18th on the ground. Defensively, the Ravens rank as the 6th best unit while being 6th defending the pass and 7th at defending the run game.
This offense is still looking for an identity and wont find one before finding the right QB to lead them.
Defensively, this team is pretty much well rounded as they play a sound yet not spectacular kind of defense. This D is really surprising
Future of the team:
I think this defense is turning the corner with such good performance at keeping the team in the game every week. The offense desperately need to find a QB who can give them the chance to win more ball games and they need to either trust one of their guys or I suggest looking to acquire a top caliber one via trade since multiple high profile QB's are available for cheap.
