Here is Patriots owner Ramjr0116. After making alot of bold moves in the offseason the patriots are on the up and up. Here are some Q and A's.
1.Q Big offseason for the patriots acquiring some big names like Calvin Johnson Victor Cruz Same Bradford. What was the method behind the madness this Patriots front office possessed this offseason?
1.A. After careful deliberation with our coaching staff, and with the retirement of our Hall of Fame quarterback Tom Brady,we decided our strategy of going for the best value was not working. To be honest, we are tired of banging our head against a brick wall. So we decided to bring the best outside adviser money could but. He outlined a two year plan to get faster and more powerful. With Calvin Johnson and Victor Cruz we accomplish the speed aspect of the plan. Giving Patriots fans a high powered offense is a tradition here in Foxboro.
2.Q. It seams very apparent this team is going to try to get teams through the air. However, Sam Bradford has had a huge interception problem this season. What can Sam as well as your team do to try to limit these turnovers?
2. A. The problem starts with the coaching staff. We have to do a better job of giving Sam the tools he needs to throw TD's and not INT's. Therefore, we are bringing in a new quarterback coach this offseason. Sam also needs to be better in his decision making process when he is under pressure in games. It starts in practice, getting Sam to throw the ball away instead of throwing INT's.
3.Q. Will Sam Bradford be the starting quarterback for the Patriots going into next season?
3.A. Yes, we have every confidence in Sam and he will be our quarterback next season. We see huge potential in Sam, he is getting better every day. He has doubled his win total from last season and we hope he doubles this years win total next season.
4.Q. This team is dead last in the NFL in rushing the ball. Will having a better rushing attack be a priority for this team in the offseason and what kind of changes can we expect to see for that acquisition happen?
4.A. The only way to have sustained success in this league is to run the ball. We know we have to improve in this area; whether it is by drafting a high quality running back or through free agency or a trade. That should be a wake up call to our current crop of RB's. We are also totally revamping our offensive to become faster and more powerful and that will continue this offseason on the advise of our outside advisor.
5.Q. This team can slice defenses through the air however. It is 2nd in the league in passing yards and this offense is definitely something fans can be excited about. Lets talk about the positives and how this offense has been able to pass all over teams throughout the year.
5.A. Obviously, Calvin and Victor have been huge acquisitions for us. Patriots fans are used to a high powered offense and we are trying to provide it. Unfortunateky, Victor Cruz sustained a season ending injury earlier in the year or what have had probably three more wins this year than we currently have. We would like to be more balanced with the run and pass but when you have Calvin Johnson and Victor Cruz to throw to, it is hard to stay balanced.
6.Q. Calvin Johnson has been shipped all around the NFL over the fast few years. Can we expect him to stay in New England for the rest of his career? He sure does have all the tools, but lacks won thing and that is a superbowl victory. How great would it be to see him win in New England?
6.A. When we sat down with Calvin and his agent trying to work out that blockbuster deal, he told us in no uncertain terms that he wanted to come to a place and finish his career there. We told him he found his home. Who wouldn't want a future Hall of Famer catching passes for his team? Calvin and the Patriots want the same thing; to win another another Super Bowl for Patriots fans all over the world.
7.Q. Lets talk about the emergence of HaHa Clinton Dix. In his 2nd season he is now the starter and leads the team in tackles and has been all over the field making plays. How good is this guy and what took so long for this guy to be named the starter?
7.A. Haha has come a long way in just two years. What he lacks in experience he makes up for with speed. In the Patriots organization we have a saying: you practice like you play. Haha just wasn't showing the coaches enough in practice. Then Vince Wilfork, one of our defensive captains, had a sit down with him and Haha started asserting himself in practice. He hasn't looked back, bring his aggressiveness to game day. I think you will see him grow even better next season.
8.Q. There is so much talent on this roster and a lot of experts are picking this Patriots team as the surprise team to reach playoffs next season. The Patriots are so close!! What will be the strategy this offseason as far as roster moves to get this team ready for a playoff push next season?
8.A. I think we will keep our strategy close to the vest, but I can promise you we will follow the advice of our outside adviser to the letter. We will continue to look for faster, more powerful football players and of course men who want to follow the Patriot way.
9.Q. With one last game of the season, you guys face the Pittsburgh Steelers who will be playing their hardest for a playoff bye. This would truly get fans excited going into the offseason if you guys could pull off the win. What can we expect from the Patriots going into week 17 against the Steelers?
9.A. As with all Patriot teams, this won has pride and we will give everything we have to win this week against the Steelers. Pittburgh is one of the elite teams in the NFL and we will use this game as a measuring stick as to how much we have actually improved this year. We have a lot of respect for the Steelers but we will do every thing we can to give our Patriot fans a win in the final game of the regular season.
10.Q. Can we expect another bold offseason like the previous offseason?
10.A. I can promise you changes, that is for sure. We will continue to turn our team into the contender we have always been and one which Patriots fans can be proud of and which they expect. I want to thank the fans for their patience during this tough transition period. It has taken us a little longer than we wanted it to but with some great outside the organization advice I believe we are on the right path. Thank you for giving me the opportunity to give everyone a little behind the scenes look at the New England Patriots organization.
