The 2012 season has to come a close for the Kansas City Chiefs after a mediocre 6-10 record under new Head Coach Conner McTague.

The Chiefs got off to an ok start going 3-3 out of the gate but then went 3-7 the rest of the way, but they finished the season on a high note beating the broncos in their final game. Here's the grades for this seasons team

Quarterback

Christian Ponder had a Career year throwing for 5,700 yards and 44 TD's, He was also picked off 54 times, some were thrown in desperate situations that cost us the game.

Running Backs

Jamaal Charles had a great year running for over 1,561 yards and 17 tds on 221 carries
He missed 5 games due to rib injuries.

Cyrus Gray had a solid rookie campaign rushing for 554 yards on 88 carries along with 4 rushing TD's

Peyton Hillis was supposed to be the #2 back for the Chiefs but pre-season struggles along with Emergence of gray caused him to be knocked down to number 3, He finished the season with 48 carries for 307 yards and 3 tds.

Overall Grade: B

Wide Receivers

Dwayne Bowe had a career year catching 76 passes for a team record 1,880 yards along with 14 TD's.

Jonathan Baldwin had his season cut short by a torn MCL but still managed to catch 46 balls for 1,158 yards along with 8 TD's

Steve Breaston had a good season catching 23 passes for 480 yards along with 5 TD's

Rookie Michael Calvin was having a great rookie season catching 21 balls for 651 yards and 6 td's before a torn MCL in week 11 sidelined him for the season.

Overall Grade: A-

Tight Ends.

Joel Dreessen Finished the season with 42 catches for a career high 862 yards along with 7 Touchdowns.

Grade: C

Defensive Ends:

Rookie Tyrone Crawford finished his rookie season with 20 tackles (10 for loss) 3 sacks and 2 forced fumbles, he will be a cornerstone in this defense for years to come

LINEBACKERS

Justin Houston finished a strong second season with 63 tackles (18 for loss) 5 sacks, 2 interceptions, and 2 forced fumbles.

Tamba Hali had a very good season finishing with 69 tackles (20 for loss) 5 sacks, 3 interceptions and 2 defensive touchdowns

Lofa Tatupu was very effective filling in for Derrick Johnson after he was traded to Atlanta, finishing with 48 tackles (7 for loss), 5 Interceptions and 2 forced fumbles

Cornerbacks

Brandon Flowers finished off a career year with a team leading 75 tackles (11 for loss) a team record 11 interceptions, 15 pass deflections along with 1 fumble recovery.

Terrence Newman finished off a strong year after coming over from Cincinnati in an early season trade finishing off with 46 tackles (3 for loss) 5 interceptions, 5 passes deflected, 1 forced fumble and 1 defensive TD.

Javier Arenas had a strong 4th season finishing with 56 tackles (7 for loss) a career high 4 interceptions, 4 passes deflected and 1 forced fumble.

Safeties

Kendrick Lewis had a good season finishing with 23 tackles (1 for loss) 2 interceptions, 1 forced fumble

David Caldwell had a strong year finishing with 73 tackles (2 for loss) 2 interceptions, 6 pass deflections, and 3 forced fumbles

Abram Elam had a decent year finishing with 69 tackles (1 for loss) 2 interceptions,3 passes deflected and 3 forced fumbles

The Chiefs team MVP was Brandon Flowers, he is the leader of this defense and will try to lead them to the playoffs in years to come.

Offensive MVP: Dwayne Bowe, leading the offense by example

Brandon Flowers was also the Defensive MVP

Special Teams MVP: Dexter McCluster had a HUGE year on ST finishing with 1,304 yards, 3 TDs on 48 returns
