TL Franchise Rules
League settings will be: Skill Level: All-Pro, Quarter Length: 8 Minutes, Accelerated Clock: 25 Seconds, Injuries: On, Weather: On, Fatigue: On
Only 1 Free Agent pick-up allowed until Week 2, then owners can pick up 2 per week. Anyone found to not be following these rules will face either being booted from the league or not be able to participate in anymore free agent signings (including first offseason).
1 ) You become a manager of a team and act as the owner/GM. Making trades, signing free agents, and drafting new talent. Trades are subject to approval of the league manager and either Ansem, Tails, or DirtyDirty7. Trades when accepted/declined will be processed either League Manager or through in-game drop/sign.
2 ) All the games are to be NFL Simulation. No use of game glitches are permitted, as they don't do this in real life. There will be 2 games a week played with advancements on Mondays and Fridays.
3 ) The trading deadline is week 4. If you make trades, please post the trade details in the trade forum for approval. If you trade for a player in the offseason, they can not be traded again in that offseason and you have to either wait until the season starts (using 1 of your 2 trades) or until the next season to deal that player to anyone.
4 ) Communicate with your opponent via website or PSN so that it is noted that you are making an attempt to have your game scheduled to be played. Those that are not able to play before advance will need to notify the league manager so that a temp boot can take place and rest of the league can advance as scheduled. This is key in order for our league to run smoothly without any setbacks.
5 ) Have good sportsmanship and respect toward your opponent.. Run the football and milk the clock as much as possible so that the game can end and receive your win.
6) Don't run the same play or formation every play. Learn your playbook and have a balanced attack offensively and defensively. Don't run out of bounds on kickoffs so that you're not blocked then make the tackle. That's a penalty in the NFL therefore is not allowed. No nano blitzing or any other foul play that gives you an advantage to win a game.
7 ) If the game disconnects, there's not much that can be done about this issue. If game is in the second half and there's a clear winner go ahead and count game if it gives you the option. If it's still early in the game go ahead and restart it and play from beginning. Of course it can be unfair but it is a problem that is out of our control. We have to manage it as best as possible. If someone wants the score back to what it was before the disconnect occurred that is allowed and I expect that to be honored by the opposing player in the case of a disconnect.
8 ) Going for it on 4th down. 1st and 3rd Quarters, you are not permitted to go for it at all. Late in the second quarter, if losing, it is allowed. 4th Quarter, if you are losing by 2 scores, it is permitted to go for it. This rule is all about common sense, if you are done 28 or more, you are permitted to go for it on 4th the entire second half, but remember if you go for it on 4th down you are giving your opponent ample field position and they have the right to go for the score just as much as you do.
9 ) Be sure to remain active on the website. This is not optional as no Owner likes to have to hunt down their opponent. Check in every other day, and everything will be fine. We replace Owners that are not on the website. This also goes along with being able to schedule games in a timely manner, all we want as managers is to not to have to do sub games of any kind, so please check your email for pms and try to schedule your game for a time that works for the both of you. If a time can’t be set by both players the game will be simulated, and if one person is unavailable you may request a sub player.
10 ) You may never play the cpu. You must request for a sub player. If you break this rule, penalties, and possible dismissal from the league may happen.
11) Roster Limit is 55 and if exceeded you will be pmed about the situation and given 24 hours to sort it out or the league manager will cut as many necessary to get you down to the limit. 0 year contract players need to be signed by the owner of the team and will be cut if not done after a pm is sent out with a deadline for this.
12) There is a salary cap and will go up 12 million per season.
13) There will only be 2 TRADES per season for each NFL team as to keep it as close to sim style as possible. Teams usually don’t trade multiple times in a given year and in the offseason trades will also be limited to 2 per team. There is also a max amount of players/picks allowed per trade of 4 per team and if you do a 3 way trade it counts as two trades toward each owner involved.
14) There will be no in-season switching of teams. If it's late in the year and a team opens up, you can ask to claim them and switch, but you will not be able to take them over until the Superbowl is over. You will still be required to play your games for the team you had, and will be relegated to no roster moves at all after you say you want another team.
If you have any concerns feel free to contact anyone that knows the answer, we are all here to help each other. Main people to ask about a concern are, Phreak1123, Ansem, DirtyDirty7, Tails, or Tony.
